(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) April 16, 2009—Legendary, best-selling pop-rock band newsboys captured its 25th radio hit this week with “In The Hands of God,” according to the Radio & Records Christian AC Indicator chart. “In The Hands of God” is the title track to newsboys fourteenth studio project, releasing May 5, 2009.
“We’re thrilled that ‘In The Hands of God’ hit No 1,” says Jeff Frankenstein of newsboys. “It’s a song that means a lot to all of us. In times like these, it’s great to be reminded of God’s love for His children and to be encouraged that ultimately, He has everything under His control.”
“This is a great achievement for newsboys and marks a new era for the band,” adds newsboys manager Wes Campbell. “Whilst this is just one of many number one singles the band has received, they are all important to us, and we have great appreciation to all the radio stations out there that have continued to support both our music and passion for ministry.”
Produced by Max Hsu (Superchick, tobyMac) along with newsboys’ Peter Furler and Jeff Frankenstein, In The Hands of God boasts the classic rock sound that has made newsboys’ music legendary among Christian music fans for more than two decades. Featuring 10 hit songs, including “No Grave,” “The Way We Roll” and “Glorious,” the album additionally includes background vocals by Michael Tait of dc Talk, who last month stepped into the role of new frontman for newsboys. In The Hands of God, the last album on which Furler will sing, is an autobiographical record and a tribute to God’s divine providence over newsboys’ long-running career.
